A research carried out by the scientists from Appalachian University for 12 weeks in the months of autumn and winter on 12 people 18 and 85 years old, consisting of 60 % women proved that there is a relation between sports and reduction in the symptoms of the flu.
According to a research published in British Journal of Sports Medicine magazine, the people that do regular sports are effected less by the flu viruses. The scientists state that at least 20-minute sports will be adequate for sweating and this will strengthen the resistance of the body against flu virus. Underlying that doing sports will reduce the risk of being exposed to flu virus at the rate of 50%, the scientists expressed that doing sports may shorten the symptoms of the illness for about 4 days and the effects of the symptoms will reduce 41%.
Explaining that sports also strengthens the immunity system, they state that stronger the immunity system, the more beneficial for the body. The article related with this subject has been published on the website of French Le Mond newspaper.
